Broken Hill is famous as the birthplace of Australia's mega mining company BHP (Broken Hill Pty Ltd). BHP was once the principle employer for the town. However, in recent years, the slow decline in the Mining industry has seen a renewed focus on tourism. Today, Broken Hill is a good place to live and a great place for a holiday.
We have a challenge in Broken Hill due to the high unemployment in the area however we are working well with our major employers, Schools and other agencies to ensure success in placement and retention for our job seekers.
