Stacey and Staff of Mayo Hospital Taree
Stacey is a young lady whose story is both remarkable and inspiring, her journey is one of heartfelt emotion, courage and strength, a young lady who needs no introduction as her story is one which united a community. On the 22nd March 1998 Stacey 11 years old fell from her horse during a camp-drafting event at a local show where she suffered extensive head injuries. Stacey was flown to John Hunter Hospital where she was admitted into intensive care. Stacey's condition was almost identical to a coma and she required intensive physiotherapy, Stacey also faced an uphill battle to regain her memory and speech. Introducing Gem; Stacey's eight month old Labrador became the heart and soul of this young lady's recovery. Three and half weeks later Stacey said her first word 'Mum' this was truly cause for celebration as this young lady had defied the odds that were stacked against her.
In the year 2000 Stacey received the Young Achievers Award and from this time on she has never looked back. After completing Year 11 at St Clare's High School Stacey joined Nova Employment in 2004 and since this time Stacey has worked in various roles where she has been able to further her knowledge and skills. In August 2006 I was privileged to be able to work with Stacey and assist her in her endeavours to find and maintain employment. In September 2006 Stacey commenced work in the Laundry at the Mayo Private Hospital. Stacey has now been employed at the Mayo Hospital for over six months, with my support, her determination, and the fantastic network of support from both her family and the staff at the Mayo Hospital together we have achieved a fantastic outcome. Stacey now wishes to further develop her career and work towards gaining her Certificate in Aged Care.

Nova Rallies for the River
During March 2008 Nova Employment attended the Manning Valley River Rally in aid of the drastic state of the local river which is putting the fisheries and oyster farmer's lively hood at risk. Local Council is required to match the State Government with $30000 before this project of sand drainage can be carried out and as a result of this not enough salt water is getting into our river which is causing diseased fish life and the dying off of local oyster leases.
Carol was amongst 400 members of the local community including, professional and recreational fisherman, oyster farmers, boaters and sporting bodies. Carol spoke on behalf of Nova Employment expressing our concerns with local employment opportunities within fishery and oyster farming industries and how these areas produce follow on into other job markets such as Hospitality and Tourism within our local area. Carol created banners for this day and was part of what the community is now seeing as a good result for our local river due to coverage of this event within local news, papers and radio.
