The nonsense being spread and scuttlebutted by our media continues to offend.
Take this piece of sensible journalism from today's offerings: 70,000 lose their job in a single day! followed by reports from around the world that totalled this number.
Absolute rot - what nonsense. There's no doubt that the unrestrained greed of rich American thieves has left us in some trouble - but the world, and especially the Australian economy, will not end.
Here's some more math for you:
There are 6 Billion people on Earth
1.5 Billion are workers (I am guessing this but it sounds about right)
Everybody changes their job once every 5 years years.
So 300 million people will change their employment in 2009.
There are 300 working days in a year (there's less, but I want easy math)
So today:1 million people went to work and told their boss to keep it - now there's a headline!
I checked our local paper today - 4 pages of job ads - I can remember not so long ago there was half a page. Bakers Delight (god bless 'em) are trying to recruit 500 apprentices - there's news.
Why aren't we hearing about the good stuff? Because it don't sell.
That doesn't mean it's not there.

The administrative burden of a new Disability Employment Service contract (starts July 1st) and the mountains of paperwork required for an NDIS dollar (approximately 10X that of the former TTW program) has seen us add 3 extra staff to the admin team and we are still receiving a large volume of enquiries that are causing us some time delay in getting back to folk....

Choice & Control
The NDIS slogans around choice and control demonstrate the importance of consumer involvement in both the choice and control of supports they need.
However, in order to be valuable, choice needs to be informed by accurate data such is this: http://www....
